Frequently Asked Questions
What does the testing process look like?
Participating in a psychological evaluation can seem a bit nerve racking, but Dr. Gregan will be there to support you and your child through every step of the process. Each evaluation begins with a virtual intake interview (approximately 1 hour). On the day of testing, direct assessments will be given to address the areas of concern. Direct testing time is scheduled for 2-5 hours depending on your specific needs. You will have opportunities for breaks as needed and for lunch during longer testing sessions. Many children report having fun during testing day. Then a virtual feedback appointment is scheduled (approximately 1 hour) where the results of the testing are presented and tailored recommendations are discussed.

What ages do you see?
Dr. Gregan services children and adolescents ages 1 through 18.

Does every evaluation result in a diagnosis?
The true goal of an evaluation is to gain valuable insights into your child's behavior, personal strengths and personal needs to help your child excel. Each evaluation is tailored to your specific referral concerns. There are instances where even with the amount of data collected, the child may not meet the criteria for a diagnosis or may need to be referred for further testing. However, the knowledge gained from a comprehensive evaluation can support your child in a multitude of ways. By completing the evaluation, Dr. Gregan is also able to supply valuable recommendations to help your child excel.

Will my insurance cover the services provided?
At this time, Gregan Psychological Services does not accept insurance. We are considered an out-of-network provider. However, many families choose to request reimbursement from their insurance company. In those instances, we are happy to supply you with a superbill. A superbill describes the services rendered and can be submitted to your insurance for possible reimbursement. You can check with your insurance company to see if the following CPT codes are reimbursable: 90791, 96136, 96137, 96130, and 96131. It is recommended that you contact your insurance provider to determine availability and rates of reimbursement.

Do I need a referral to come see you?

Gregan Psychological Services requires a minimum notice of 72 business hours (Monday-Friday) for cancelation of an evaluation appointment.
